The Constitution Party of Idaho Convention will be held at the Karlfeldt Center located at 3451 E. Copper Point Dr., Meridian, ID 83642. The convention will be held on Saturday, August 3 2024 at 8:00 a.m. until business is completed around 5:00 p.m.
State Bylaws require the convention be held every even calendar year as near to the first Saturday in August as possible. There has been a slight delay in placing notification due to a venue change.
The Constitution Party of Idaho members will attend this convention to nominate Idaho’s preferred candidate for the U.S. presidency and elect party officers.
The Executive Committee has received 3 letters of intent to seek our nomination. The following candidates are listed in the order received:
- Joel Skousen
- Samm Tittle
- Dan Cummins
The Constitution Party of Idaho Bylaws and Standing Rules dictate the operation of the convention. Those who wish to participate as a voting delegate for the convention business must be members of the party in good standing as defined in the Standing Rules.
The Constitution Party State Convention will open at 8:00 a.m. All members of the party are welcome and encouraged to be present in order to cast their vote for the party nomination. Voting will close at 1:00 p.m., the votes will be verified, and the convention will make the nomination.
At the start of the convention, each presidential candidate will be given no more than 20 minutes to address the convention. Those not in attendance will be allowed to have a representative attend on their behalf and address the convention or they may submit a video recording to be played at the convention. We give these same options to our state and local candidates.
There is no unfinished business from our last State Convention and no suggested amendments to the Constitution Party of Idaho’s Platform, Bylaws, or Standing Rules. While voting for the presidential nomination, the convention will convene several committees. All members in attendance will be encouraged to participate in these committees to help the party grow.
The final business of the convention will be the nomination and endorsement of party candidates.
